{"id":146073,"date":"2016-05-23T23:00:51","date_gmt":"2016-05-23T13:00:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/?p=146073"},"modified":"2020-10-13T17:54:35","modified_gmt":"2020-10-13T07:54:35","slug":"driver-risks-losing-car","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/2016\/05\/23\/driver-risks-losing-car\/","title":{"rendered":"Driver Risks Losing Car"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>May 23, 2016<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A man could forfeit his car after he allegedly side-swiped a parked vehicle in the Glendon Street car park\u00a0 in Kingaroy on Friday morning and drove off without stopping.<\/p>\n<p>A number of witnesses contacted police who then tracked down the driver at Ellesmere.<\/p>\n<p>A 42-year-old Ellesmere man has been charged with unlicensed driving, failing to stop after an accident and failing to adhere to a production notice.<\/p>\n<p>Police will allege the man attempted to hide the vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>Officer-on-charge of Kingaroy police, Senior Sergeant Duane Frank, said the man&#8217;s Holden Commodore could also be subject to total forfeiture.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>A 20-year-old man was taken by ambulance to Kingaroy Hospital for assessment after a single-vehicle crash on Sunday evening.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Police and emergency services were called to the incident about 7:30pm.<\/p>\n<p>The man&#8217;s Subaru rolled on the corner of Shellbacks and Curtis roads, Kingaroy.<\/p>\n<p>Police investigations are continuing.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>A 29-year-old Brisbane man pulled over by police on the D&#8217;Aguilar Highway for allegedly speeding will also face a drink-driving charge.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Snr Sgt Frank said the man was originally stopped because police clocked him doing 118km\/h in a 100km\/h zone.<\/p>\n<p>However,\u00a0 he then\u00a0 allegedly failed a breath test, blowing .058 BAC.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Two people will face charges after they allegedly attempted to tow an unregistered vehicle by rope in Rae Street, Kingaroy, on Friday morning.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A 24-year-old Kingaroy man has been issued with a notice to appear in court charged with permitting the use of an unregistered motor vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>A 16-year-old youth, who was behind the wheel of the vehicle being towed, was charged with unlicensed driving, and driving an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Police arrested a man at a residence in Belle Street, Kingaroy, at 6:00am on Friday wanted for breaching his bail conditions.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The man was also charged with stealing after he allegedly took a family size chocolate bar and hid it in his shorts at SupaIGA.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Police and ambulance attended a minor collision in Markwell Street, Kingaroy, on Thursday morning.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Snr Sgt Frank said one vehicle crossed Youngman Street, then indicated to turn right into a centre parking spot.<\/p>\n<p>A vehicle travelling behind attempted to overtake, and the two vehicles collided.<\/p>\n<p>Neither the 25-year-old woman in the first vehicle, or the 81-year-old woman in the second, were\u00a0injured.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Kingaroy police placed a speed camera in Moore Street after complaints from local residents about vehicles speeding in the 50km\/h area.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Police issued several infringement notices, including vehicles travelling at more than 70km\/h.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>A 28-year-old Kingaroy woman has been issued with a notice to appear in court to face a charge of unlicensed driving after she was stopped by police in Doonkuna Street on Friday at 7:00am.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The women&#8217;s licence had been suspended in April through loss of points.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A man could forfeit his car after he allegedly side-swiped a parked vehicle in the Glendon Street car park  in Kingaroy on Friday morning and drove off without stopping.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":20,"featured_media":269008,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[3,24],"tags":[1132],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v19.11 -
