Three new concrete bridges – on Campbells Road at Silverleaf, Mondure Road and Weens Road, near Kingaroy – are now open.<\/p>\n

South Burnett Regional Council originally budgeted $3 million in 2015-16 for the replacement of the three timber bridges, but the cost is believed to have come in closer to $2 million.<\/p>\n

A Council spokesperson said on Monday all the costs had not yet been finalised, but would be included in the capital works report at the next Council meeting on June 15.<\/p>\n

The bridges were built by Brisbane-based Construction Project Management, with 17 local companies also working on or supplying products to the three sites.<\/p>\n

Work began last September but completion was delayed due to wet weather before Christmas.<\/p>\n
