The Commonwealth Bank branch in Kingaroy became a sea of pink on Friday as employees joined in the fight against cancer.<\/p>\n

Not only were the bank’s staff dressed in pink (or wearing pink ribbons), \u00a0the branch was also decorated with pink balloons and ribbons.<\/p>\n

Pink cupcakes and copies of the Australian Women’s Health Diary<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0were being sold to raise funds for the Breast Cancer Institute of Australia.<\/p>\n

Later in the afternoon, the branch also welcomed into town the Tour de Cure<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0riders who are also raising funds for cancer research.<\/p>\n

The nine full-time riders, accompanied by seven guest riders and six support staff, had ridden in from Dalby on the second last leg of their journey from Ipswich to Montville.<\/p>\n

Rider Jodie Harris – the only woman on the tour who is riding the full distance – said the team had ridden more than 140km on Friday. They faced another 190km on Saturday before they reached the finishing line.<\/p>\n

The riders are raising funds for cancer research, support and prevention projects and try to share a cancer awareness message with every community they visit.<\/p>\n

“We are all very passionate about what we’re doing,” Jodie said.<\/p>\n
