Wondai Wolves fans, still recovering from the previous week’s encounter with Nanango, would have gone home a bit happier last weekend despite a loss to the Mundubbera Tigers.<\/p>\n

The Wolves, reeling from their 102-0 nil defeat at the hands of the Stags on May 7, put on a much better display against the Tigers on Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n

The final score was 46-10.<\/p>\n

There were times when the Wolves looked threatening, especially when they managed to get a bit of possession.<\/p>\n

Last year’s Grand Finalists are rebuilding in 2016 after losing players to other teams and through retirement.<\/p>\n

Mundubbera tries were scored by Luke Berthelesen (2), Brendan Augustine, Niko Kapene, Bodibo Lohia, Burt Beezley, Maraga Lohia, Bailey Kimber and Danyon Van Mierto. Kimber kicked four goals, and Bodibo Lohia one.<\/p>\n

For Wondai, Jordan Gilbert scored two tries and Danny Alberts kicked one conversion.<\/p>\n

In the other A Grade match played at the weekend,\u00a0 an under-manned Kingaroy side were defeated by Eidsvold on Saturday.<\/p>\n

One for the calendar …\u00a0 the Kingaroy Red Ants are planning a “Pink Day” to raise funds for cancer research at T.J. O’Neill Oval on Saturday, May 28.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Everyone has been invited to stay back after the game and enjoy some drinks in the bar and listen to live music.<\/p>\n

It’s going to be a big Saturday at Fred Kassulke Oval for Nanango Stags supporters.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The club has invited everyone associated with the Stags’ Premiership-winning side in 2000 \u2013 both players and supporters \u2013 along for a reunion.<\/p>\n

The A Grade game, between Nanango and Murgon, will kick off at 3:00pm after a morning of junior league.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, rugby league action will be back in Kingaroy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

At 9:00am at T.J. O’Neill Oval, there will be a round robin played by U6s and U8s between Kingaroy, Wondai and Murgon.<\/p>\n

South Burnett White U18s will take on Highfields at 12:30pm, followed by the 2015 grand final replay between Kingaroy and Wondai in A Grade.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
