Recently, art enthusiast and curator of the Wondai Regional Art Gallery Mrs Elaine Madill visited Kingaroy State School to judge the primary school art competition.<\/p>\n

Elaine carefully viewed all entries and selected a first and second place for art categories Years P-3 and Years 4-7.<\/p>\n

She donated prizes for the winners and Highly Commended Awards for other runner-up artists.<\/p>\n

Elaine is passionate about providing opportunities for young people to get involved in art experiences.<\/p>\n

“I hope the children continue with their art and keep entering competitions for encouragement. We need to keep supporting our children with their art as they are the creators of the art that will be in our galleries of the future,” Elaine said.<\/p>\n

Kingaroy State Primary School has been invited to display work at the Wondai Regional Art Gallery early next year, and along with our State-winning life-size painted cow from the Royal Queensland Show, many students will have the honour of displaying their work for the community to view and enjoy.<\/p>\n

The school would like to thank Mrs Madill for volunteering her time to view the students\u2019 work.<\/p>\n

The staff and students greatly appreciate the certificates, gifts and words of encouragement provided to the young artists.<\/p>\n
