Mundubbera Butchering has successfully defended its wurst crown, being named Grand Champion at the 2nd annual Wide Bay Wurst Off<\/strong> held in Wondai on Saturday evening.<\/p>\n

However butcher shops in Murgon, Kingaroy and Wooroolin also went home with prizes.<\/p>\n

The Wurst Off, which is a fundraiser for the Karate Union of Australia (KUA), was judged by Jason Ford, from the Southern Queensland Institute of TAFE, Chantal Harth, from local radio station CROW-FM, and Andrew Zerner, from KUA.<\/p>\n

They were each presented with plates of wurst in a “blind” taste test.<\/p>\n

“The quality was A grade,” Jason said.<\/p>\n

“Myself and the other judges enjoyed the night immensely but choosing the Grand Champion was very challenging as we had differing opinions.<\/p>\n

“But after tasting the top three scoring wursts several more times, we came to a consensus.”<\/p>\n
