ALP candidate for Maranoa

The ALP candidate for Maranoa at the upcoming Federal Election, Dave Kerrigan, was lucky to escape serious injury when he was involved in a head-on crash at the weekend.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred about 5:30pm on Saturday on Oakey-Cooyar Road, near the intersection with Dalby-Cooyar Road, at Nutgrove.<\/p>\n

Nutgrove is just south of Cooyar.<\/p>\n

Mr Kerrigan was travelling from Warwick where he had been campaigning.<\/p>\n

Neither driver was injured, although both vehicles required towing.<\/p>\n

Police were called to the scene at 5:53pm but took no further action.<\/p>\n

Mr Kerrigan is a health worker at Barcaldine.<\/p>\n

The former shearer has lived in Maranoa all his life and moved to Barcaldine 32 years ago.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
