Three people were taken\u00a0to hospital with minor injuries after a bizarre traffic crash in Youngman Street, Kingaroy at noon on Saturday.<\/p>\n

A vehicle heading southwards, slowed to turn right into Queen Street.<\/p>\n

At the same time, a vehicle heading northwards executed a U-turn, running into the back of the first vehicle.<\/p>\n

A 26-year-old woman,\u00a0a 31-year-old woman and a six-year-old girl in the second vehicle, all from Nanango, were taken by ambulance to Kingaroy Hospital.<\/p>\n

They were assessed and later discharged.<\/p>\n

The driver of the first vehicle was not injured.<\/p>\n

The 26-year-old woman was issued with a traffic infringement notice for following another vehicle too closely.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Kingaroy police were called to a disturbance in Edward Street, Kingaroy, about midnight on Friday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Officer-on-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant Duane Frank, said police found a very intoxicated man trying to get into the house.<\/p>\n

He was known to the occupants.<\/p>\n

Snr Sgt Frank said the man was taken into custody due to his level of intoxication.<\/p>\n

When he was searched, police allegedly located a small amount of cannabis and a knife.<\/p>\n

He has been charged with possessing dangerous drugs and carrying a knife.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

A Bunya Mountains camping trip turned sour for a Redcliffe couple on Saturday night.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Snr Sgt Frank said police were called to the Burtons Well camping area about 10:30pm after reports of a violent domestic argument.<\/p>\n

Police will allege a 46-year-old man kicked and threatened a 45-year-old woman, ripped down a tent and yelled abuse at other campers.<\/p>\n

The woman took refuge with other people at the camping ground.<\/p>\n

Snr Sgt Frank said that earlier in the day the couple had gone for a bush walk. They had then returned to the camping area and had been drinking when an argument started.<\/p>\n

The man was arrested and taken into custody.<\/p>\n

He was charged with assault, public nuisance and domestic violence-related matters.<\/p>\n

He was bailed to appear in Nanango Magistrates Court on June 23.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

A 41-year-old Murgon who allegedly recorded a positive reading in a roadside breath test risks a high-range drink driving penalty after he allegedly refused to provide a second breath specimen at Kingaroy Police Station.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Police stopped the man’s vehicle about 7:00pm on Sunday in Haly Street, Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

He has been charged with failing to provide a specimen of breath.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Police executed a search warrant in the accommodation rooms at the Club Hotel last Thursday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

They allegedly located drug items including amphetamines and drug utensils.<\/p>\n

A 25-year-old woman will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on May 30.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Barbecues will be held at local high schools on Wednesday morning as part of “Not Now Not Ever” domestic violence awareness campaign.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The events, which are supported by local police, aim to raise awareness among young people that domestic violence is never acceptable.<\/p>\n

They will run from 7:30am to 9:00am at Kingaroy, Nanango and Murgon State High Schools and St Mary’s Catholic College.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Kingaroy police will be mounting a display in Kingaroy Shoppingworld between 9:00am and noon on Friday to promote “Fatality Free Friday”.<\/strong><\/p>\n

So far thus year, 86 people have died on Queensland roads, including 10 in May and three on Monday.<\/p>\n
