{"id":144563,"date":"2016-05-11T21:29:47","date_gmt":"2016-05-11T11:29:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/?p=144563"},"modified":"2020-10-15T11:37:24","modified_gmt":"2020-10-15T01:37:24","slug":"speedster-could-lose-vehicle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/2016\/05\/11\/speedster-could-lose-vehicle\/","title":{"rendered":"Speedster Could Lose Vehicle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>May 11, 2016<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A 36-year-old Kingaroy man looks set to forfeit his vehicle after he was pulled over for speeding on the D&#8217;Aguilar Highway near Coolabunia on Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant Duane Frank said police would allege the man was doing 115km\/h in the 100km\/h zone at 7:30am.<\/p>\n<p>However, police checks then revealed the man was a repeat unlicensed driver.<\/p>\n<p>He was arrested, charged with unlicensed driving and bailed to appear court. He was also given a ticket for speeding.<\/p>\n<p>Police impounded his 2002 Toyota stationwagon which could be subject to forfeiture after court proceedings are finalised.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>A 55-year-old Kingaroy man has been charged with drink-driving after being stopped by police in Knight Street, Kingaroy, at 4:00pm on Sunday.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>He allegedly recorded a blood alcohol concentration of 0.105, more than double the legal limit.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>A driver stopped by police in Somerset Street, Kingaroy, at 8:00am on Monday morning was allegedly another repeat unlicensed driver.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Police issued the 30-year-old Kingaroy man with a notice to appear in court and impounded his vehicle for seven days by confiscating his number plates.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>A 36-year-old Cherbourg man wanted on a return-to-prison warrant was arrested by Kingaroy police at 1:30am on Wednesday in Memorial Park.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Snr Sgt Frank warned racegoers heading to Burrandowan Races at the weekend that police will be out on force on the roads to catch any drink drivers.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>He said people should make responsible traffic decisions, such as catching the bus to the racetrack or arranging a designated driver.<\/p>\n<p>Snr Sgt Frank also urged drivers to take extra care on the gravel sections of the road.<\/p>\n<p>He said drink drivers ran the risk of having their vehicles impounded.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Since the start of the year, 18 people have been charged with drug-driving in Kingaroy alone.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The latest incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon when a 37-year-old Kingaroy man was pulled over by police in Haly Street and allegedly tested positive at a roadside drug test.<\/p>\n<p>Snr Sgt Frank said the majority of the positive drug tests had occurred in the Kingaroy CBD.
