The roulette wheel was spinning and the cards were flipping at the Nanango FunFest committee’s third annual casino night held at the Nanango Cultural Centre on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Professional croupiers guided the (mostly) newbie “gamblers” through a range of classic games including roulette, blackjack, Texas Hold’em and craps.<\/p>\n

The players were given $1000 in funny money when they entered the “casino” which they swapped for gaming chips.<\/p>\n

More funny money could be obtained during the night by making donations to the Funfest Committee to keep the gambling going.<\/p>\n

At the end of the night, the “richest” gamblers went home only with a smile on their faces, while the “poorest” still had a shirt on their backs.<\/p>\n

The South Burnett’s own Elvis, Jeff Hancox – accompanied on stage by a Bris Vegas showgirl – provided the live entertainment.<\/p>\n

There were also a series of raffles, lucky door prizes and a “Fashions of the Field” competition; the players were also plied with finger food.<\/p>\n

The “Big Spender” award for the person who bought the most chips on the night was won by Nazrin Black, from Nanango.<\/p>\n

The “gamblers” with the biggest kitties when stumps were called were Jason Mackrell and Fina O’Brien, from Brisbane, who had a combined $2.1 million … if only it was real!<\/p>\n

Profits from the night will be put towards the Nanango New Year’s Eve Mardi Gras community celebration.<\/p>\n
