Nanango Lions Club members were kept busy at the weekend celebrating the 60th anniversary of the club.<\/p>\n

Club president Mayleen Green said Nanango was the fourth oldest Lions Club in Queensland.<\/p>\n

Former members travelled from all over the State for the celebration.<\/p>\n

A special guest was Ray Phippard, 93, who was the club’s first president in 1956.<\/p>\n

Ray and his wife Beryl drove up from Tweed Heads for the weekend.<\/p>\n

Celebrations started on Saturday with a meet’n’greet at the club’s Lions Den, the old Nanango Post Office in George Street.<\/p>\n

Then members and guests gathered on Saturday night in the Long Hai Room at the Nanango RSL Club for a birthday dinner.<\/p>\n

Then on Sunday morning Nanango Lions, with help from Kingaroy members, hosted a free sausage sizzle breakfast at Lion’s Park to thank Nanango residents for their support over the past six decades.<\/p>\n
