April 23, 2016<\/strong><\/p>\n

Four valuable campdraft horses escaped serious injury when a large horse float ran into a ditch of the side of the D’Aguilar Highway near Yarraman about 8:00am on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred on the passing lanes just south of the town.<\/p>\n

Traffic on the highway was reduced to one lane for about three hours as emergency crews worked to free the trapped horses in the teetering truck.<\/p>\n

A tilt tray from Claytons Towing was used to stop the truck from rolling any further while the horses were extricated.<\/p>\n

A heavy recovery vehicle then put the truck back on the road.<\/p>\n

Police, the fire brigade, QAS and SES were all involved in the operation to ensure the safety of the horses.<\/p>\n

The driver of the horse float was not injured.<\/p>\n
