The second annual Blackbutt Show, Shine & Swap Meet had a lot more “shine” this year … in both spit and polish, and warm autumn weather.<\/p>\n

Last year’s inaugural event – which is organised by the Blackbutt Benarkin Lions Club to raise funds for charity – was cut short when rain came on Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n

This year, vehicles started rolling into the Blackbutt Showgrounds on Friday afternoon, some pulling caravans.<\/p>\n

The rock’n’roll dance, which was also affected by the weather last year, was brought forward to Friday night .<\/p>\n

Dancers were kept grooving to the sounds of the 50s and 60s, including a live “Elvis” performance by local singer Jeff Hancox.<\/p>\n

The music kept on playing all day as Saturday as visitors admired the vehicles on display, ranging from Dodges to Mustangs, Pontiacs, classic caravans and vintage and veteran motorbikes.<\/p>\n

Food and drinks were also available at the grounds.<\/p>\n

Proceeds from this year’s event will be donated equally to the Royal Flying Doctor Service, Prostate Cancer Research and the National Heart Foundation.<\/p>\n
