April 13, 2016<\/strong><\/p>\n

Landholders planning to seek damages from UCG operator Linc Energy will meet at Chinchilla RSL Club on Sunday afternoon (April 17).<\/p>\n

The residents, who are planning a group civil action with Toowoomba-based lawyers, claims Linc’s activities contaminated soil and underground water in a 32,000ha agricultural area.<\/p>\n

Sunday’s meeting, which will start at 1:00pm, aims to explain to landholders how they can join the group action.<\/p>\n

In a separate matter, Linc Energy faces five criminal charges alleging it broke environmental laws while operating its UCG plant.<\/p>\n

This case will be heard in the District Court at a date to be fixed.<\/p>\n
