A group of 36 primary producers from the Mackay region dropped into Kingaroy during this week as part of a tour of the South Burnett and Toowoomba.<\/p>\n

The group were taken on a guided tour of the Peanut Company of Australia’s complex and the Endeavour Foundation’s Kingaroy Kitchens.<\/p>\n

They also visited a dubiosia farm, Taabinga Homestead, Glenrock Hay, Nanango Energy Centre, the Bunya Red Caper Farm and the Wondai Timber Museum during their South Burnett visit.<\/p>\n

Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington welcomed the group in Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

She caught up with them just before they were taken on their tour of PCA.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Mackay Rural Production Society conduct an annual tour of farming regions and this year they chose the South Burnett and Toowoomba,\u201d Mrs Frecklington said.<\/p>\n

\u201cLast year I met the Group\u2019s Secretary, Kim Roles, along with members Roddy and Patty Watt, when I was in Calen, near Mackay, and since then we\u2019ve been helping them with ideas for their itinerary.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m so pleased that I could welcome this progressive group to our area and let them know all about our wonderful region and the food we produce. This is a great economic injection for the South Burnett and an excellent opportunity to showcase our local primary producers.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d like to thank the Mackay Rural Production Society for choosing the South Burnett for their 2016 tour and congratulate them on their keen interest in agriculture.\u201d<\/p>\n
