Tansey Polocrosse Club’s Hafey family will be heading off to NSW next week to take part in the 25th Australian Polocrosse National Championships.<\/p>\n

The championships are being held at Albury from April 18-24.<\/p>\n

Dad Justin, daughters Beth, Emma and Laura, and son Daniel will all be representing Queensland at the event.<\/p>\n

The Hafeys have 60 years of polocrosse experience between them.<\/p>\n

Justin will be competing in the Open Men’s division, Beth and Emma in the Open Women’s, Daniel in the Under 16 Boys and Laura will captain the Under 16 Girls.<\/p>\n

Members of Tansey club’s O’Neill and Gehrke families have also been selected: John O’Neill in the Masters Mixed, Tom O’Neill in the Open Men’s, Shane Gehrke in the Open Mixed and Jason Gehrke in the U21 Men’s.<\/p>\n

Haly Creek’s Bredhauer family have also been selected as Reserves for the competition.<\/p>\n

Queensland Polocrosse Association State Administrator Gillian Meppem-Mott said the State\u2019s Nationals campaign was very much a family affair.<\/p>\n

\u201cPolocrosse is a family sport, and our clubs are a reflection of that,\u201d Ms Meppem-Mott said.<\/p>\n

“We have quite a few whole families competing, including the Hafey family.”<\/p>\n

Up to 400 competitors, 800 horses and 3000 spectators are expected to converge on Albury from all over Australia for the week-long championships.<\/p>\n
