Police are investigating a motorcycle crash this afternoon near Ravensbourne which has left a man aged in his 50s with serious injuries.<\/p>\n

At about 12;30pm, the motorcyclist was travelling on the Esk Hampton Road towards Esk when it is believed he hit a rock on the road.<\/p>\n

The rider came off his bike and ended up down an embankment.<\/p>\n

Firefighters helped to retrieve the man and he was flown by the RACQ CareFlight helicopter to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane in a serious but stable condition.<\/p>\n

A CareFlight spokesperson said the rider suffered suspected spinal and leg injuries, as well as a broken collarbone.<\/p>\n

The road near the site of the crash was closed for a while but has since reopened.<\/p>\n
