There was some traditional – and not so traditional – dancing at Cherbourg on Friday afternoon to mark the official launch of the Moo’Roo Moo’Roo Youth Group<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

After Elder Bert Button<\/strong> performed a “welcome to country” to invited guests, the Wakka Gubbi dancers performed.<\/p>\n

And while their performance was spectacular – as it always is – it has to be said that it was the next set of dancing that stole the show.<\/p>\n

‘Sasha Fearless” (aka Howie George) and his team of dancers vamped it up while lip-syncing to Beyonce.<\/p>\n

Moo’Roo Moo’Roo means “full of life” in Gubbi Gubbi … and Sasha’s dancers were definitely “full of life”!<\/p>\n

So far about 23 children have signed up to become members of the youth group, which will offer a range of activities for young Cherbourg residents, including dancing workshops.<\/p>\n

The group has been assisted by Stanwell’s Aboriginal Community Interest Consultative Committee<\/strong><\/a> (ACICC), The Smith Family and the Department of Communities.<\/p>\n

ACICC Executive Officer Darren Schmidt and Moo’Roo Moo’Roo member Shane Dynevor officially opened the group’s new youth area, located in the Ration Shed complex, as part of National Youth Week celebrations.<\/p>\n
