Yarraman residents will have the opportunity to meet some of their Council Election candidates at the local markets on Saturday morning.<\/p>\n

Former police whistleblower Peter Pyke, who is one of 36 candidates standing at the Toowoomba Regional Council election, is organising what he has called an “old-fashioned flat-bed truck meeting”.<\/p>\n

He told southburnett.com.au<\/strong> he had invited a group of candidates that he called the “Change Team”.<\/p>\n

“Initially we hoped to get a number of us elected with at least three experienced councillors,” he said.<\/p>\n

“As a result of the wave of discontent we are tapping into, we have been persuaded by voters to go for a clean sweep. All out! A new team.”<\/p>\n

Mr Pyke said the candidates who had been invited to accompany him were Jim McEvoy, who is standing for mayor; Murray Choat, Dianne Warr, Ben Apsey, Tony Lake, Garry Humphries, Robin Grundon, Voelcker Sapolu and Craig Commens.<\/p>\n

He said he would be at the Yarraman Markets from 7:00am.<\/p>\n
