A 27-year-old South Burnett man has been charged after two bizarre incidents in Noosa Heads on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The man, from Charlestown near Wondai, has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm, public nuisance and obstructing police.<\/p>\n

A police spokesman said a woman walking down a street with a friend, and a man sitting outside a restaurant with his young daughter, were the victims of unprovoked assaults.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Police were called to Lanyana Way, Noosa Heads, about 6:00pm following reports a man had attempted to smash his way into a restaurant.<\/p>\n

The spokesman said the man fled the scene but was arrested a short time later while walking down the street.<\/p>\n

Police investigations indicated that immediately prior to this incident, the man had been at a hotel in Sunshine Beach Road.<\/p>\n

The man walked out of the bar and walked up to two women who were crossing a street; he allegedly punched one of the women on the back of the head.<\/p>\n

He then kept walking through back streets, until he came across a 33-year-old father sitting outside a restaurant with his young daughter.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Police will allege the man approached the father and punched him in the face, splitting the man’s lip and causing it to bleed.<\/p>\n

The father grabbed the man but he broke free and walked away, only to return a short time later.<\/p>\n

The family sought refuge inside the restaurant and called police as the man allegedly tried to force his way inside by hitting at a glass door with a broom handle.<\/p>\n

Police are yet to identify the woman who was allegedly assaulted.<\/p>\n

The Charlestown man is due to appear in Noosa Magistrates Court on March 29.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
