<\/strong>Cattle producers have been reminded that the deadline for public submissions on the location of the tick line closes February 29.<\/p>\n

Queensland\u2019s Chief Veterinary Officer Dr Allison Crook said it was very important that producers have their say on the location of the tick line.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn particular feedback is required from those property owners living along the current tick line or in the current control zone,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cCattle ticks cost the Queensland cattle industry millions of dollars every year, so it is important that Queensland has a sustainable system in place to reduce their impacts.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe feedback received will inform a new cattle tick management framework for Queensland that meets the needs of our diverse and rapidly changing livestock industry.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the first time in 30 years that we\u2019ve had an opportunity to amend the location of the cattle tick line, so it\u2019s crucial that everyone has the 0pportunity to have their say.\u201d<\/p>\n

Feedback can be provided through the cattle tick online survey<\/a><\/strong>, or by completing a printed copy of the survey available by calling 13-25-23.<\/p>\n
