QCWA Younger Set members from Wondai-Wooroolin and Gympie-Widgee Younger Sets – plus an Associate member from Kumbia – have returned from the annual QCWA Leadership School held at Proserpine loaded up with prizes and trophies.<\/p>\n

The girls brought home a total of 46 prizes and trophies including one for the best Set display.<\/p>\n

Members from 10 Younger Sets between Woodstock, near Townsville, and south to Toowoomba contested cookery, photography, scrapbooking, handcrafts, dressmaking and public speaking sections.<\/p>\n

Marian Mudra, from Kumbia QCWA, said the region should be very proud of the achievements of these young women.<\/p>\n

“During the five days of the school, the Younger Setters took part in training sessions, some of which included goal setting, self esteem, the duties of office bearers of an organization, food safety and handling and assembling birthing kits for East Timor,” she said.<\/p>\n

“They also had great fun times.<\/p>\n

“One night was a girls\u2019 night in with all wearing pink and buying donated items with all proceeds going to breast cancer research.<\/p>\n

“They played several team games and ended the night with a big birthday cake to mark QCWA\u2019s 90th birthday.<\/p>\n

“Another night they dressed as their favourite childhood toy and danced the night away to a disco beat.”<\/p>\n

The Younger Setters came home planning how they will raise the funds to get them to the next year\u2019s school.<\/p>\n
