The process to appoint a second police officer to Blackbutt has begun.<\/p>\n

After discussions with the Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington, Police Minister Jack Dempsey took the issue of policing in Blackbutt to the Queensland Police Service.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have been advised by the Queensland Police Service that a process is underway to appoint an officer to the Blackbutt Police Station,\u201d Mr Dempsey said today.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe government remains committed to more police on the beat and I am happy to see an officer will arrive in Blackbutt in due course.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ms Frecklington welcomed the news on behalf of the community\u2019s residents.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe appointment of an officer to Blackbutt will be warmly welcomed by both myself and the town of Blackbutt,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
