Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington has rejected rumours spread on Facebook that she is supporting Moreton Resources’ proposed coal mine near Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

Mrs Frecklington has repeatedly said she does not think Moreton\u2019s proposal will eventuate, given the project\u2019s proximity to Kingaroy and the many hurdles it faces.<\/p>\n

She said it was also clear the local community opposes the mine, and raised her hand alongside most of the 900-strong audience at the Kingaroy Concerned Citizens Group meeting on February 9 at Kingaroy Town Hall.<\/p>\n

The same source that is believed to be behind the rumours about Mrs Frecklington has also published a table on Facebook which suggests that mayoral candidates Cr Keith Campbell and Cr Damien Tessmann also support the mine while candidate Sheena Lindholm’s position is unknown.<\/p>\n

However, other photographs taken at the KCCG’s town hall meeting clearly show Cr Campbell, Cr Tessmann and Ms Lindholm voting against the mine.<\/p>\n
