Kingaroy police faced an unusual situation on Sunday evening when\u00a0 a 22-year-old man turned up at the Police Station to confess he had been using illegal drugs.<\/p>\n

When police searched the man, they allegedly found a drug utensil.<\/p>\n

He was charged with possessing a thing for drug use and will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on March 21.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

An elderly woman was taken to Kingaroy Hospital for observation after a two-vehicle crash in Kingaroy Street, Kingaroy, on Saturday morning.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant Duane Frank, said it appeared the woman, aged 81, was pulling out from a parking spot when she collided with a vehicle travelling down the street.<\/p>\n

Snr Sgt the driver of the second vehicle attempted to take evasive action but could not avoid the collision. The 32-year-old Kingaroy man was not injured.<\/p>\n

A number of witnesses saw the crash. Police investigations are continuing.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

A 59-year-old woman has been issued with an infringement notice for failing to give way after a collision at the Glendon Street \/ Markwell Street roundabout on Friday at noon.<\/strong><\/p>\n

No one was injured in the crash but both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

A 61-year-old Memerambi has been arrested and returned to prison after he was spotted by police in the Kingaroy CBD on Friday evening.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The man was was wanted on a warrant after breaching his parole conditions.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Police were called to a disturbance in First Avenue, Kingaroy, at 10:00pm on Saturday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

They found that a party had spilled out into the street.<\/p>\n

Snr Sgt Frank said that while police were dispersing the crowd, one man at the party allegedly punched another man at the party.<\/p>\n

A 36-year-old Kingaroy man was taken into custody and charged with public nuisance.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

A 40-year-old man was arrested at a house in Knight Street, Kingaroy, on Sunday afternoon on a return-to-prison warrant.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Snr Sgt Frank said the man was uncooperative and struggled with the police officers trying to take him into custody.<\/p>\n

He has been charged with obstructing police.<\/p>\n

So far in 2016, 36 people have been killed on Queensland roads, including 12 in February alone.<\/strong><\/p>\n
