February 20, 2016<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you’ve been itching for the return of the ag shows, you’d better head on down to Cooyar on Saturday for the first show in this year’s South Burnett show season.<\/p>\n

The Cooyar Show includes entertainment for all the family … all the usual ring events and cattle judging, plus a lumberjack show, ute muster, smash-up derby, chainsaw competitions and the traditional bullride and fireworks at night.<\/p>\n

In the afternoon, new attractions will include “Mutton Bustin”, poddy rides and a mini-horse derby.<\/p>\n

A bar and\u00a0barbecue will be operating all day, as well as live entertainment.<\/p>\n

For the kids, there’ll be five-for-$5 rides, show bags and free face-painting.<\/p>\n

The Grand Parade will start about 12:15pm.<\/p>\n

Footnote: Last year’s Cooyar Show was washed out; organisers will be hoping that the overnight storms don’t cause them any headaches this year!<\/b><\/p>\n

A good crowd turned out at the 2016 Cooyar Show Ball to see Sam Wolski crowned 2016 Cooyar Miss Showgirl. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Mark’s Music also kept toes tapping and dancers twirling on the Cooyar Hall dancefloor.<\/p>\n

Also sashed were Matron of the Ball Sandy Kahler, Junior Princess Keira Ryan, Belle of the Ball Nicole Atkinson and Rural Ambassador Zane Tonscheck.<\/p>\n
