South Burnett Show Societies have a valuable new tool to help them through this year’s Show season, thanks to a generous donation from Boehringer Ingelheim.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, Boehringer Ingelheim donated an $8000 Polaris Hawkeye quad bike to the South Burnett Sub-Chamber for use at shows and major events across the region.<\/p>\n

The presentation was made at the Kingaroy Showgrounds to South Burnett Show Society oresident Cliff Seiler, who was standing in for Sub-Chamber president Ritchie O’Neill, OAM.<\/p>\n

Boehringer Ingelheim won the vehicle in a BGA Agriservices competition late last year.<\/p>\n

“Our company and local staff have a long history of working closely with the Kingaroy community,” Boehringer Ingelheim duboisia manager Des Crane said.<\/p>\n

“When we won BGA Agriservice’s prize, we immediately looked to see if we could find a good home for it in the community.<\/p>\n

“We are thrilled that we’re able to partner with the South Burnett Sub-Chamber and contribute to the running of agricultural shows and other big events.”<\/p>\n

Dr Wolfgang Baker, a member of Boehringer Ingelheim’s Board of Managing Directors who is currently visiting Australia, and Wes Cook, the Managing Director of Boehringer Ingelheim Australia and New Zealand, also attended the presentation.<\/p>\n

The quad bike will be used by all Show Societies in the South Burnett Sub-Chamber region, including Wondai, Proston, Murgon, Goomeri, Nanango, Kingaroy and Blackbutt.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In a prepared message, Mr O’Neill said the Sub-Chamber thought Boehringer Ingelheim’s contribution was excellent, and thanked them for their generous sponsorship.<\/p>\n

“There is no doubt the vehicle will be used extensively throughout the region,” Mr O’Neill said.<\/p>\n

“The convenience of having such a vehicle will make it much easier for Show Society organisers to check in with stewards and other staff across the grounds during events where there is quite a lot of travelling involved.”<\/p>\n

Cliff Seiler said the Sub-Chamber already shared equipment amongst themselves.<\/p>\n

“The nature of agricultural shows is changing, and we all depend on the generous assistance of our sponsors,” he said.<\/p>\n

The quad bike will be transported between sites on the same truck that carries the Sub-Chamber’s other shared equipment.<\/p>\n
