The St Mary\u2019s Catholic College String Ensemble recently visited the Orana Lutheran Aged Care Complex to perform a concert for residents.<\/p>\n

The members of the ensemble, who range in age from 10 to 17, are Liana Haak and Bridget McCarron (violin), Rory Browne and Sara Vinci (viola) and Aiden Raabe and Hannah Depper (cello).<\/p>\n

The Orana residents were treated to works ranging from Classical, Baroque and Renaissance canons through to a recently composed Australian repertoire.<\/p>\n

The ensemble also experimented with different formats, performing duets, trios and quartets.<\/p>\n

The Orana concert followed a highly successful performance at the school\u2019s \u201cRock on Stage\u201d event in July.<\/p>\n

Conductor Michael Scanlan said he was pleased with the Ensemble\u2019s performance and its development throughout the year.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is great to see so many enthusiastic string players who are willing to form an ensemble and perform at various venues,” he said.<\/p>\n
