South Burnett Division 5 councillor Kathy Duff will be returned to office unopposed after nominations for the March 19 Council elections closed at noon on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

No other candidates nominated for her Division.<\/p>\n

But Cr Duff will not be declared officially elected until the Queensland Electoral Commission gives its formal assent.<\/p>\n

And Division 5 voters will still need to turn out to polling booths on March 19 to cast their vote for Mayor, as well as give their view in a referendum about whether or not Queensland should move to four-year parliamentary terms.<\/p>\n

Division 6 councillor Ros Heit faces a late challenge from Mr Uwe (Tom) Nowack from Inverlaw.<\/p>\n

There were no other surprises, though, and the candidates voters will need to choose amongst on March 19 will be:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
