The annual Blackbutt Show will be held on Saturday, May 14 this year. And this week the Blackbutt Show Society released its 2016 Pavilion Schedule.<\/p>\n

Show Society Chief Pavilion Steward Bev Brown said that with better weather this year, she was looking forward to many more entries.<\/p>\n

“There are lots of exciting changes in the Pavilion this year,” Bev said.<\/p>\n

“They start with the Challenges on pages 5 and 6 of the 2016 Pavilion Schedule.<\/p>\n

“We are inviting children of all ages to compete in the new Lego\/Duplo\/Mobilo Challenge. And we’re hoping for lots of entries in the Local History Challenge sponsored by the Blackbutt and District Tourism and Heritage Association.”<\/p>\n

Each of the usual sections this year has a special Feature Class with very generous prizes sponsored by various Blackbutt businesses. <\/strong><\/p>\n

“For example, in the Preserves Section, Bendigo Bank is sponsoring a $50 prize ($20 for second and $10 for third) for the best jar of chutney,” Bev said.<\/p>\n

“There are similar prizes on offer for a Novelty Pin Cushion in the Craft Section … let your imagination run wild!!”<\/p>\n

The Craft Feature is sponsored by Peter Olzard Water Cartage.<\/p>\n

“And with our new computerised entry system, entry forms can be lodged at the same time exhibits are delivered,” Bev said.<\/p>\n

Entry for all Student Classes in free and only $1 for open classes, including the Feature Classes.<\/p>\n

The display in the Pavilion will be open all day on Saturday, May 14, with the very tasty carrot cakes competing for the big $150 prize to be sold from noon.<\/p>\n

The Show Society is also planning an exciting all-day program of entertainment for the whole family, culminating in a giant fireworks display in the evening.<\/p>\n

The 2016 Pavilion Schedule can be collected from the usual shops in Blackbutt, or online from the Blackbutt Show Society’s<\/b><\/a> website.<\/strong><\/p>\n
