In August 2014, Deputy Prime Minister Warren Truss was honoured by having the Council Chamber in Kingaroy named after him, and was congratulated by South Burnett Mayor Wayne Kratzmann<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Media reports are tipping that Deputy Prime Minister – and Member for Wide Bay – Warren Truss will announce his retirement as early as Thursday.<\/p>\n

However, he is expected to stay in his role until March 17.<\/p>\n

The former Kingaroy Shire Chairman was elected as the Member for Wide Bay in 1990, and was appointed Federal Leader of the National Party in 2007.<\/p>\n

During his Parliamentary career he has served as Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry Minister, Customs and Consumer Affairs Minister, Transport and Regional Services Minister, and Trade Minister.<\/p>\n

After the 2013 election, he was sworn in as Deputy Prime Minister.<\/p>\n

In April last year, he celebrated 25 years of serving in Federal Parliament.<\/p>\n

Trade Minister Andrew Robb is also expected to announce his resignation on Thursday.<\/p>\n
