Now’s your opportunity to “name and shame” dangerous roads<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The RACQ has asked Queenslanders to name and shame the most dangerous and problematic roads across the State.<\/p>\n

Spokesperson Lauren Ritchie said the club\u2019s “Unroadworthy Roads Survey 2016” was now underway and was a quick and easy way for people to voice their concerns.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhether it\u2019s a street which goes under every time there\u2019s a hint of rain, potholes, a road that\u2019s narrow, lacks overtaking chances or has hard-to-see signage, or even a spot where hazardous rubbish gets left constantly, we want to hear about it,\u201d Ms Ritchie said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe compiled results will form a vital part of our representations to local, State and Federal governments on which road maintenance and upgrade projects need to be prioritised.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe can\u2019t help get it fixed if we don\u2019t know about the problem, so it\u2019s really important for people to get involved and take part.<\/p>\n

\u201cYour suggestion for change could end up saving lives or even simply make the daily commute less stressful for everyone who travels on that particular road.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ms Ritchie said this year the survey had an added Google Maps function which made it easier to identify the road name and pinpoint exactly where the issue was.<\/p>\n

\u201cLast time this investigation was run, we identified over 500 inadequate or substandard roads around Queensland,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
