The discovery of protected plants near the Tingoora Chelmsford Road has delayed a proposed curve realignment west of the Tingoora Loop Road for a month.<\/p>\n

The South Burnett Regional Council announced last month it planned to start working on the realignment on January 27.<\/p>\n

However the plants were discovered when the work site was inspected, and the road was reopened on January 28.<\/p>\n

Instead, the Council will now bring forward reconstruction work on a 600 metre section of Tingoora Chelmsford Road south of the Springs Road and Old Chelmsford Road intersection.<\/p>\n

Roadworks began on Monday, February 1 and are expected to take about two months.<\/p>\n

During this time, traffic can still travel along the Tingoora Chelmsford Road but there may be minor delays.<\/p>\n

Residents with concerns during the construction period should contact the onsite supervisor.<\/p>\n

UPDATED February 2: Initially Council located a single Acacia tingoorensis<\/em><\/a> but has now identified 10\u00a0Callitris baileyi<\/em><\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
