You’d have to be crazy to run five kilometres in this heat wouldn’t you? And with a thunderstorm looming??<\/p>\n

The threat of rain wasn’t enough to stop the Kingaroy Nutters running group from holding their first run for 2016 in Kingaroy on Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n

The group was formed last April and consists of runners of all ages and abilities.<\/p>\n

Some are just beginners while others have competed in world-class events, including the Honolulu Marathon.<\/p>\n

However, a handicap system means that, hopefully, they should all cross the finishing line about the same time.<\/p>\n

The group usually meets in Lions Park in Kingaroy (opposite The Peanut Van) on the last Sunday of every month.<\/p>\n

Sunday’s run consisted of a five kilometre loop along the Town Common pathway and through the Industrial Estate back to Lions Park.<\/p>\n

Spokesman Dan O’Connor said between 10 and 12 runners usually take part every month.<\/p>\n
