Police have charged six people with a range of offences following a break-in at a veterinary surgery in Kingaroy at the weekend.<\/p>\n

On Friday night or Saturday morning, thieves allegedly smashed down a door to gain entry to the SB Veterinary Surgery in Youngman Street.<\/p>\n

Once inside they allegedly removed a quantity of animal vaccines and animal-related drugs from a refrigerator, as well as syringes and a floor safe, which contained more animal drugs and cash.<\/p>\n

Staff called police when they arrived for work on Saturday morning.<\/p>\n

A police investigation led to a search warrant being executed on a house in Haly Street on Monday morning where a number of people were arrested.<\/p>\n

Police will allege a quantity of animal-related medicines and other items were located at the property, as well as methamphetamine, drug utensils and ammunition.<\/p>\n

A 30-year-old Kingaroy man and a 41-year-old Nanango man have been charged with break and enter and committing indictable offences.<\/p>\n

A 29-year-old Kingaroy woman has been issued with a notice to appear in court on a charge of receiving tainted property.<\/p>\n

A 16-year-old Kingaroy woman will also appear in court to face charges of possessing property suspected of being stolen, possessing dangerous drugs and possessing drug utensils.<\/p>\n

A 30-year-old Kumbia woman has been issued with a notice for failing to dispose of drug syringes.<\/p>\n

A 30-year-old Kingaroy man will face charges of possessing dangerous drugs, possessing drug utensils and storing explosives without authority (ammunition).<\/p>\n

Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy police, Senior Sergeant Duane Frank, said the items allegedly taken from the vet surgery included vaccines for cats and dogs, and drugs related to the treatment of animals including ketamine.<\/p>\n

He said police located a number of items during the search of the Haly Street house which they believe are stolen. These included two Samsung tablets, a Huawei smart phone, an iPhone and an Asus laptop.<\/p>\n
