A delegation from Gympie Regional Council inspected parts of the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail last week to help gather ideas for the northern half of the Kingaroy to Kilkivan trail.<\/p>\n

Cr Ray Currie and Manager, Planning Strategy & Major Projects Chris Engle inspected sections of the trail between Blackbutt and Moore.<\/p>\n

They were accompanied by two Brisbane Valley Rail Trail Ambassadors whom Cr Currie would\u00a0have known well from his days as Kilkivan Shire Council CEO:\u00a0former Nanango Shire Mayor Reg McCallum and Nanango Shire Deputy CEO Kerry Mercer, who acted as guides for the fact-finding trip.<\/p>\n

Gympie Regional Council is responsible for the rail trail from just north of Murgon to Kilkivan, where rail trail users could then link up with the Bicentennial National Trail.<\/p>\n
