A meeting to decide the future of the South Burnett Private Hospital has been set back from Monday, January 18 to Thursday, January 21<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

A special Council meeting to discuss the future of the South Burnett Private Hospital has been deferred for three days.<\/p>\n

The meeting – which was originally planned for Monday, January 18 – will now be held on Thursday, January 21.<\/p>\n

Mayor Wayne Kratzmann said he had taken the decision to postpone the meeting after an advertisement about it published in a local newspaper on Friday had failed to include the meeting date.<\/p>\n

“This was an unfortunate error,” the Mayor said.<\/p>\n

“But since a correction can’t be printed until Tuesday, in fairness to everybody I’ve decided to reschedule the meeting to Thursday.”<\/p>\n

The Mayor said he thought the issue of the hospital’s future was very important and wanted as many people as possible to attend the meeting.<\/p>\n

“We receive almost 10,000 signatures from local residents to keep the hospital open in a little over a week last year,” he said.<\/p>\n

“There is a lot of interest in this topic, and everyone who wants to attend should be given every opportunity to do so.”<\/p>\n

The meeting will be held at the Warren Truss Chambers in Glendon Street, Kingaroy at 9:00am.<\/p>\n
