Murgon Cricket Club is justifiably proud of its current crop of young – and not so young – cricketers.<\/p>\n

The club has nurtured six players in recent years who have been selected to play for Queensland or Australia.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nev Kratzmann is the patriarch, who has travelled to England, South Africa and New Zealand with the Australian Over 60s team.<\/p>\n

In July, he will be off to England again, this time with the Australian Over 70s.<\/p>\n

In the local competition, Nev currently pads up for Murgon Cherbourg in the B Grade competition.<\/p>\n

Samuel Dennien made the Queensland U15s team in 2011 and travelled to Tasmania.\u00a0 He currently plays 1st Grade for Wests in Brisbane,<\/p>\n

Tom Carney was selected for the Queensland U15 team last year and will play at the Australian Championship next month in Brisbane. In the local competition, he plays A Grade with the Murgon Crusaders.<\/p>\n

Jared Sippel made the Australian U16 team in 2014 and toured with the team to Sri Lanka. He was selected for Queensland U15s in 2014 and 2015, playing carnivals in Canberra and Darwin. He started the 2015-16 season with Gympie Gold however is currently recovering from knee surgery.<\/p>\n

Renee Irvine and Courtney Sippel have made the same teams: the 2016 Australian U18 Development Team,\u00a0the 2014 and 2015 U15 Queensland teams, and the 2012 and 2013 Queensland 12&U teams.<\/p>\n

Courtney was also named in the Team of the Championship, an honorary team selected at the 2014 Australian U15 carnival.<\/p>\n

In the local competition, Renee plays for Murgon Diggers while Courtney was supposed to play for Murgon Cherbourg, however has filled in for Crusaders in A Grade whenever she has been available.<\/p>\n

The duo will fly to\u00a0Canberra on Monday for the Australian U18 carnival (although both are still 14).<\/p>\n

They both began playing U10s for Murgon when they were aged six, so this is their ninth season playing cricket.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
