The organisers of the inaugural Wondai Street Sprints are looking for volunteers and not-for-profit organisations interested in getting involved in the event.<\/p>\n

The sprints will be held on a bitumen street circuit in the Wondai industrial estate on June 11-12 under safety guidelines set down by the Confederation of Motor Sport (CAMS).<\/p>\n

Entrants compete against the clock.<\/p>\n

“This is a huge opportunity to see a cross-section of race cars from the 1930s to the present in the South Burnett,” organising committee member Kevin Krosch said.<\/p>\n

As well as the sprints, there’ll also be large show and shine.<\/p>\n

Mr Krosch said all the South Burnett would be advantaged by the event.<\/p>\n

“As an event of this size will take a lot of organising and volunteers, we are seeking expressions of interest from people and organisations that may want to be involved,” he said. <\/strong><\/p>\n

“This may be in the form of volunteers needed to help in the running of the event, or if you are a South Burnett not-for-profit organisation that would like to be involved in possible fundraising opportunities.<\/p>\n

“Also sponsors are needed to help in the huge task of setting up and running this event.<\/p>\n

“There are various opportunities to be involved with us to bring these street sprints to this area.”<\/p>\n

The Sprints are being organised by the Motors in Motion committee.<\/p>\n

Mr Krosch said the event was only possible due to assistance from the South Burnett Regional Council.<\/p>\n
