Members of the Kingaroy Junior Motorcycle Speedway Club reflected on their first full season of competition at their Christmas break-up on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Club secretary Tracey Tunstall said the highlight was hosting the 125cc junior championship recently in Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

“The nominations were great; to get 16 nominations was really good,” she said.<\/p>\n

“The meet was also really good but it was a shame that we got the storm.”<\/p>\n

She said the Kingaroy Bees would apply to host the 125cc championship again next year, and might also try for the 250cc category.<\/p>\n

The Christmas break-up barbie was held at club vice-president Col Rogerson’s South Burnett Motorcycle Rider Training complex, just outside Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

Tracey said it was an opportunity to say thank you to all the parents, friends and volunteers who had helped the club.<\/p>\n

However, it was also an opportunity for club members to congratulate Tracey, who was presented with the Motorcycling Queensland Volunteer of the Year Award at a function in Brisbane on Friday night.<\/p>\n

Also nominated for an award was club member Keynan Rew who was nominated for the Speedway Junior Rider of the Year title.<\/p>\n
