A fire in the early hours of Saturday morning has destroyed the historic Kandanga Hotel.<\/p>\n

The occupants of the building escaped unharmed.<\/p>\n

Firefighters could not save the 101-year-old wooden pub but prevented the flames from reaching nearby properties.<\/p>\n

Owners Doug and Carolyn Greensill and their son John took over the business in May this year.<\/p>\n

They formerly ran the Grand Hotel in Wooroolin.<\/p>\n

The family escaped the blaze, which started about 5:00am, after being alerted by neighbours.<\/p>\n
