Organisers promised “the best Kingaroy Christmas Carnival ever” and they didn’t disappoint on Thursday night.<\/p>\n

An earlier downpour would have had them worried for a while – and did scare off a couple of stallholders – but then the sun came out in plenty of time to dry up the streets for a perfect evening of fun.<\/p>\n

There were lots of rides for children to enjoy including a giant slide, climbing wall and the always-popular Splatt Sponge Attack.<\/p>\n

The highlight of the night, though, for most of the youngsters was the arrival of Santa Claus who was delivered to O’Neill Square aboard a fire engine.<\/p>\n

His helpers handed out balloons and sweets as the children crowded around.<\/p>\n

For the older “kids”, the traditional Kingaroy Rotary Club ham wheel was as popular as ever.<\/p>\n

There were also market stalls to explore and several stores stayed open in Haly and Kingaroy streets for late-night shoppers.<\/p>\n
