On the day organisers knew they had raised at least $5000 … but the final total for Mayor Wayne Kratzmann\u2019s Charity Golf Day was actually a lot more, with a massive $13,000 in the kitty.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile it was bittersweet to participate in my last Charity Golf Day as Mayor, it was heart-warming to see the support our region gives to others in the community,\u201d Mayor Kratzmann said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who participated, from the residents who supported the cause by playing golf on the day, to the business people who donated prizes, tee sponsorships, trophies and items to be auctioned and raffled.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery cent raised on the day will go into the Mayor\u2019s Community Benefit Fund, and I\u2019m proud to say it was the most successful golf day ever.\u201d<\/p>\n

Olympian Duncan Armstrong was a popular drawcard, despite admitting he was a better swimmer than a golfer.<\/p>\n

Mayor Kratzmann particularly thanked the Telstra Shop Kingaroy for their sponsorship, as well as All About Refrigeration And Airconditioning, who donated an MDV Comfee 2.5 kw Reverse Cycle Split air-conditioner for the hole-in-one prize.<\/p>\n

When the golfers failed to get a hole in one, All About Refrigeration generously donated the prize, including installation, to be auctioned, which significantly increased the funds raised on the day.<\/p>\n

Round 7 of the Mayor’s Community Fund is currently open to South Burnett organisations with a focus on projects that deliver a meaningful outcome to the wider community, and which meet the criteria.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The allocation amount is for two major project grants of $10,000 per project.<\/p>\n

Application forms can be downloaded from Council\u2019s website or picked up at a Council Customer Service Centre. Applications close on January 15, 2016.<\/p>\n
