Olympic swimmer Duncan Armstrong said he simply couldn’t refuse the request to be a guest at the Mayor’s Golf Day on Friday when he heard where the money went.<\/p>\n

Duncan – who admits he’s not a great golfer – said he was impressed by the fact the money stayed in the community and supported causes that may not otherwise qualify for funding.<\/p>\n

Mayor Wayne Kratzmann said he was thrilled with the day.<\/p>\n

Thirty-eight teams of three players took to the course, raising $5000 before the proceeds of the charity auction and raffles were added.<\/p>\n
