The winners of this year’s South Burnett Mental Health Week art competition were announced at a small function at Kingaroy Art Gallery on Friday night.<\/p>\n

The competition, which this year had the theme “Be Kind To Your Mind”, is part of an awareness-raising campaign about mental health issues in the community and to reduce the stigma attached to mental illness.<\/p>\n

The competition is open to everyone and the entries were varied, in different media and styles.<\/p>\n

For the second year, the Kingaroy Lions Club stepped is as sponsors, providing cash prises to the winners in each category.<\/p>\n

Council’s Visitor, Arts and Museum Team Leader Fiona Kemp said she was pleased with the quality of the work that had been entered into the competition.<\/p>\n

Visitors to the Kingaroy Art Gallery will be able to vote on the “People’s Choice” winner until the end of this week.<\/p>\n
