The South Burnett’s annual Christmas celebrations moved into full gear at the weekend.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, Blackbutt celebrated the main day of the town’s annual, week-long Christmas Festival with Maudsley’s Celebrity Hour in Les Muller Park, the final day of the two-day Arts and Crafts Fair in the Memorial Hall; and in the evening, an Outdoor Food Fiesta at the Blackbutt Showgrounds.<\/p>\n

Proston held its Christmas Carnival the same day; and after having to postpone last year’s for a fortnight because of wet weather, Goomeri’s Christmas Carnival returned to its usual first Saturday in December timeslot.<\/p>\n

Sunday was just as busy, with Nanango, Kingaroy and Murgon all staging Community Christmas Carols services, while the Blackbutt Singers and guest artists entertained the Timber Towns with their annual Christmas Concert.<\/p>\n

The coming week will see Wondai’s Community Christmas Carols service (Wednesday, December 9); Kingaroy’s Christmas Carnival (Thursday, December 10); the Murgon Christmas Fair and Nanango’s Christmas Festival (Friday, December 11); Nanango’s Community Christmas Lunch and Boondooma Homestead’s Community Carols (Saturday, December 12); and the Kumbia Christmas Carnival (Sunday, December 13).<\/p>\n

Other festivities will occur in Cherbourg (Thursday, December 17), Hivesville and Yarraman (Friday, December 18), Kilkivan, Blackbutt and Proston before the seasonal celebrations conclude on Christmas Eve with the Wondai Christmas Carnival.<\/p>\n
