The first security gates were being manned on Power Station Road on Sunday morning<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

November 29, 2015<\/strong><\/p>\n

A delivery driver has died in a workplace health and safety incident on Sunday morning at the Tarong North Power Station.<\/p>\n

The incident is believed to involve a truck and occurred about 9:00am.<\/p>\n

Ambulance crews from Yarraman and Nanango attended the scene.<\/p>\n

Police were called just before 9:30am.<\/p>\n

The worker is not a Stanwell employee.<\/p>\n

Stanwell Corporation and UGL Limited – which provides management, overhaul, and maintenance management at the Tarong Power Stations – released an official statement about 1:30pm.<\/p>\n

“Stanwell and UGL are devastated for the family, friends and work mates of the delivery driver,” a spokesperson said.<\/p>\n

“Stanwell and UGL will do everything it can to assist the family, its employees and contractors during this time.<\/p>\n

“Counselling support is being arranged for those directly and indirectly involved.<\/p>\n

“Stanwell and UGL are working closely with all relevant authorities to investigate this tragedy.”<\/p>\n

No further information is available.<\/p>\n

UPDATED November 30:\u00a0 Workplace, Health and Safety Queensland are investigating the fatality. They released an incident alert on Monday which said the worker was killed when he was crushed by a truck-trailer combination which rolled while he was attempting to repair an airline.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
