Yarraman took a break in their calendar last week to take up an offer from Bowls Queensland to conduct coaching and umpiring courses.<\/p>\n

Eight players attended a weekend course for coaching this weekend just gone, and next weekend the course will update some of the players in umpiring.<\/p>\n

The course dates fitted in nicely with the weather, which was less than perfect for normal bowls for most of the week.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Yarraman has a full calendar for the remainder of the year. <\/strong><\/p>\n

One interesting event is the club\u2019s “Come Let\u2019s Bowl” day next Saturday, November 21, which is part of the club\u2019s new membership dive.<\/p>\n

Another is the Rosalie Fours competition in early December, which is always one of the club\u2019s major events for the year.<\/p>\n

The event was initially promoted by the Rosalie Shire Council and has continued to attract bowlers from South East Queensland.<\/p>\n

Nanango News<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Nanango staged a couple of championship matches last weekend and both games attracted quite a bit of interest. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The final of the B Grade singles championship between Josh Fisher and Trevor George drew gallery attention.<\/p>\n

Trevor got away to a flying lead of 14 to 6 after 12 ends.<\/p>\n

Josh then found his range and levelled the scores on the 18th end, before movinhg ahead to win the game 25-20.<\/p>\n

The Championship Mixed Fours match on Saturday also attracted gallery interest.<\/p>\n

Bob Hammond, Doris Drew, Delvin Powys and Warren Arthur defeated Brian Havell, Allan Wright, Sue Tucker and Glen Yeates 20-16.<\/p>\n

There were a couple of big scores in the Scroungers game on Friday, too.<\/p>\n

Lew Saunders (91) held off Greg Pogson (89) to take the honours.<\/p>\n

There was a good crowd on Tuesday for Trophy Day, with thirty-two players on the green.<\/p>\n

Two rinks of pairs and four rinks of triples were held, with each team playing two games of twelve ends.<\/p>\n

Scoring was one for the end and four for the win.<\/p>\n

      Jenny Edwards, Nelly Herbert, Liz Frawley and John Worrall attended the CDLBA President’s at Home at Bongaree on Monday, November 9. <\/strong><\/p>\n

      Marg Worrall & Pauline Lawson were also there as part of the CDLBA team.<\/p>\n

      On Tuesday, in the Star Of The Green, Jenny Edwards defeated Trudi Pratt. Jenny is now drawn to play Leigh Irwin next Tuesday.<\/p>\n

      The Tuesday Jackpot, however, didn’t go off and rises to $406 – so there should be a full green next week!<\/p>\n

      Why? Because next Tuesday – as per club rules when the jackpot is greater than $400 – it will be drawn until winners are found.<\/p>\n

      The winning team last Tuesday was Marg Worrall, Noel Lanes and Col Ferguson who defeated Jeff Welden, Nelly Herbert and Val Wells 25-10.<\/p>\n

            The Kingaroy Four Men’s Lawn Bowls Country Championships were held on the weekend, and 20 teams from as far as Beenleigh and Cunnamulla took part in the competition.<\/strong><\/p>\n

            Five games of 16 ends were played over two humid days with rain, thunder and lightning stopping play for an hour on Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n

            Many of the teams make the trip each year, and many a friendship was renewed over a cold beer at the end of play each day.<\/p>\n

            Prize money was paid to 7th place for wins plus ends won:<\/p>\n
