The Stolen Wages Reparation Taskforce will be hosting a community meeting in Cherbourg on Thursday (November 12) to collect feedback and submissions from local residents.<\/p>\n

To RSVP for the meeting, which will be held from 10:30am to 12:30pm at the Community Hall, contact Cherbourg Shire Council on (07) 4168-1866.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The closing date for submissions to the Taskforce has been extended to Friday (November 20).<\/p>\n

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships Minister Curtis Pitt said the deadline had been extended to hold more community meetings and allow more people to contribute to the important process.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe taskforce is specifically looking at feedback and ideas from those impacted as to how to create an eligibility assessment criteria to accurately allocate the $21 million fund to people whose wages and savings were controlled by past Queensland Governments under the Protection Acts,\u201d Mr Pitt said.<\/p>\n
