We don’t know how many lives Pixie the puss used up today in Kingaroy … but we do know she enjoyed a big dose of luck.<\/p>\n

Jordan, 8, and Kobe, 7, were riding their pushbikes when they saw a “blue\/greenish” car pull up in Joseph Street and drop a box into the gutter beside a wheelie bin – and then drive off.<\/p>\n

Intrigued they opened the box and found a small ginger cat, probably only a couple of months old.<\/p>\n

Jordan stayed with the kitten while Kobe went off to tell them mum, Ange.<\/p>\n

Ange was stunned that someone could be so cruel as to dump a cat like this.<\/p>\n

And she didn’t really know what to tell her boys when they asked the same question: Why?<\/p>\n

She said the kitten seemed really scared and was very stressed by the experience. But it did start to calm down after a short time.<\/p>\n

As the family could not keep the cat, she decided she would take it to the RSPCA Shelter … but in the meantime she posted about it onto Facebook:<\/p>\n

This beautiful kitten was dumped in a box in the gutter at a house next door to us that is being renovated this morning. My boys noticed a blue car pull up dump the box and drive off. I am not sure if it is a boy or a girl as it is very scared and stressed. We can not keep it as much as my kids would love it. So I will be taking it to the RSPCA at lunch time today.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Minutes afterwards she was contacted by a Facebook friend from Nanango who offered to provide the puss with a new home.<\/p>\n

Southburnett.com.au<\/strong> was there when Jordan handed the kitten (and the box) over to Taleah, who promptly named her Pixie.<\/p>\n

We hope Pixie enjoys her new home in Nanango … and we sincerely hope there are no more kittens sitting in cardboard boxes tonight in Kingaroy streets awaiting collection with tomorrow’s garbage.<\/p>\n
